Motse Lodge is the ideal place to stay for seeing the sights and enjoying activities in and around Kanye.

Our pool area with the bar and shaded terrace is the favourite spot for relaxing in Kanye. At 1.2m deep, the pool is ideal for all ages. Enjoy a friendly match of basket ball or volley ball. Changing rooms are nearby.

In the cultural village our ladies make traditional pots - you can even try your hand at making one yourself! The ladies will be happy to teach you.

Mmakgoduma Dam
Pots and basketware and other crafts from Kanye and the Kalahari are for sale in our small gift shop.

You can watch the local farmers drive their animals past Motse Lodge to the nearby Mmakgodumo Dam. If you want some exercise, walk down to the dam, and admire its birdlife or try fishing.

Afternoon by the pool
Kanye is the home of Bangwaketse. We are very proud of our village, and we enjoy directing our guests to the interesting sites, like the Chief's court, the recently opened museum, and our bustling new shopping areas.
Drop in for traditional food or a cooling drink at Ko Gae Cafe in Kanye Mall.
The cafe has live music nights regularly, and there is always pleasant company and good music.

Thamaga Pottery is about 45 km away on the way to Gaborone. A range of tableware and souvenirs is on sale. Make a detour to Manyana and see the San Paintings and Livingstone's tree.

South Africa is just an hour's drive away. Visit the game reserve at Botsalano, right on the border post at Ramatlabama. Just a few kilometres beyond is Mafikeng with its many shops.

Visit the Livingstone Historical site, just off the Gaborone road. Excavations and rebuilding give an impression of the site where the famous Scottish Dr. Livingstone set up home for some years.
Find out more at the wonderful museum in Molepolole

Other parks are in Gaborone and at Mokolodi. Meet and pet its famous Cheetahs. Ride the elephants. Enjoy a meal in its excellent restaurant.

For the energetic, we will direct you to the real Botswana. Drive out to the cattleposts and the lands and meet the people. Or take a day trip or go camping at one of the pans at the edge of the Kalahari desert, where you can be sure to see some wildlife.

At the end of your day we look forward to pampering you with a delicous dinner. Have a sundowner at the poolside or in the bar, and enjoy a talk with good friends.
